17th Edition Training Overview
This course provides you with the information necessary to pass the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations 2008 City and Guilds 2382-12 exam as it is a required qualification to join any Government approved Part P Competent Installer scheme.
The 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 is a large green book consisting of 494 pages full of rules and regulations which we must follow as Domestic Electricians. Initially the content of the book will appear quite daunting and certainly not make much sense. However after the 3 Day Course the ET4U trainers will have taught you how to fully understand and navigate your way through the book which is supported by fact that we have a 98% average pass rate across our range of City and Guilds accredited courses.
We could not possibly teach you the whole wiring regulations book in 3 days but we show you how to navigate your way around the book in preparation for the City and Guilds 2382-12 exam on Day 3 of our course. We will also show you that for day to day common Domestic Electrical work questions you would generally refer to the On-Site Guide which is far more user friendly and smaller in size so easier to store in your van or car.
Our 17th Edition Courses include the following:
- Introduction to the Qualification and rationale behind it
- Why the regulations exist & their role within statutory legislation
- Book design and structure
- Explanation of the numbering systems in the book
- Parts 1 – 7 and Appendices of the book
The Exam
At the end of our 17th Edition training, customers are required to take the City and Guilds 2382 Online Multiple choice exam. The exam will consist of 60 multiple choice questions and you will have 2 Hours to complete it. You will even get to take your 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 book in with you as the City and Guilds are testing your ability to reference the book in this exam. So if you do not know what the answer is to a particular question, you know where to go in the big green book to find it! This is a classroom based course.
On completing this training course with ET4U, you may want to put into practice the knowledge you have gained. If so, why not consider our unique 5-day Experience Course which gives you the opportunity to put all you have learnt into practice in real-life situations, with the safety net of experienced supervision.

We are specialists in all aspects of domestic electrician training and key providers of electrical training courses for beginners or those with existing experience who wish to expand their knowledge base and qualifications.
